F.E.A.R Sequel announced.

F.E.A.R, arguably one of the best games of yesteryear is to get a sequel.

The problem is, Monolith, the developers and F.E.A.R's publisher, Vivendi, have gone their seperate ways, leaving the rights to the name F.E.A.R with Vivendi.

Monolith, who still own the rights to the game itself, were left with an unamed sequel. In an interesting twist, they turned to fans of the original to name the sequel, in a Name your F.E.A.R contest. Fans could submit their entries with the winning entry becoming the new game title. The winner, and three runners up also got the chance to have themselves modeled and added to the game... to get killed in a no doubt horrible way.

Monolith settled on Project Origin, and fans of the original should recognise the name.

Personally, I think it's a good move Monolith. Originally, they weren't interested in making a sequel - hence, why Vivendi hold the rights to the name - however, public opinion seemed to have swayed them.

I wonder if it will be the same engine and so on. EP deviated enough from the original to make it interesting.

Jupiter EX was a great engine. Personally, I'd like to see Monolith make another AVP. The first AVP was brilliant. Few games have stopped the atmosphere created when playing as the marine.

I loved in the 2nd one the alien could walk on the ceiling. that was quite a twist.

FEAR was freakin' sweet.

I remember looking at it in a game magazine and was like..'I'm so getting that when it comes out'.

Even now, it looks brilliant and plays flawlessly. The AI is amazing and the storyline is kick-ass.

Can't wait for this to be released.

I've never purchased FEAR, but I still plan to, some day. Its pretty cheap on amazon.com.
I've been playing the coop warfare and absolutely love the graphics.
I love when someone gets killed by the sniper gun and turn into a fried skeleton.
