PS3 and NetFlix

Just got my NetFlix subscription for my PS3 today.

Gotta say, I'm really, REALLY liking this 'Movie on demand' thing.

Yeah, yeah, I know, the XBox has had this for a while. Doesn't change the fact that I'm digging having it on my PS3!

I used Netflix ( Before I had a PS3, )really liked their service, but ran out of things I wanted to see... might look into this again now that you don't have to mail a hard copy.... How does one set it up, got a url?

P.S. Glad your enjoying yourself! ":O}

Netflix: Rent as many movies as you want for only $8.99 a month! Free Trial

When you sign up, they send you a disk for your PS3. I gather that they are working on a software package that you can download to your PS3 so that you won't need the disk, but for now you have to use the disk. Takes about 2 days or so to get the disk.

They've got a number different packages: the lowest package is $8.99, and lets you check out one DVD at a time, plus unlimited streaming movies. I think they have a $5.99 package that lets you get like 3 DVDs/month and you can stream 2 hours of video, also, but the $8.99 package seems like the best deal.

They don't have their entire catalogue available via streaming, but they've got like 17,000+ movies and TV shows available.

I watched my first netflix movie on the ps3 last night. Works out kind of nice, I can find something to watch while I am waiting for a feature movie to show up in the mail. Also gives me a chance to see some things I might have normally skipped over. Watched Snow Walkers last night. Not a bad movie either. Seems a lot of the movies and shows I really want aren't available for streaming though.

I moved the PS3 to the living room where all I have access to is a wireless connection, it wasn't bad but there were a few stumbles, so I will have to crawl back in the attic and drop some wires..

How often can you get what you want in BlueRay rather than DVD? Looks very intriguing, would have have to dump Showtime to swing it on my budget... A month free would anwser what ever questions I have about relative worth I guess..":O}

Too bad there's not such a service over here in the UK.

We have LoveFilm, but their streaming selection is very limited, and I'm assuming the only way to watch their streams are via the browser on the PS3. Not worth it imo.

I haven't purchased ANY videos from the PS store. The pricing just doesn't make sense to me.....in many cases I can buy the DVD for equal or less than the price on the store, and the HD prices are just unrealistic. As for renting the videos, I can do that far cheaper via NetFlix. In short, I just see no good reason to use it.
