Hopefully this can live up to my expectations of the first one. I still play it on my netbook, with the HD mods done by the community.

Still playable over 10 years later, that's some big shoes to fill.

This is the 3rd Installment right?
I have been watching it on moddb and am very impressed.
Never played either of them, but I do have the Dues Ex at home. Just need to install it.

This is the third instalment, though only because the second got really bad reviews, and the third was changed to it's own universe.

Play the first one first, hopefully they live up to that game, as I will be getting it when it drops in price. While the original graphics leave something to be desired in this day and age, the high quality graphics make up for it.

It is a FPS, but there is so much more to it than just a shooter. There are decisions to be made, NPC's who can give information making your life a whole lot easier/harder and several ways of doing the same levels.

Basically if you kick the door down, shoot first and not bother with questions it is going to be a hard game. If you scout the area, use non-lethal force where possible, sneak attacks, and frontal assaults when you have no choice, you will get the most out of it.

There are max amounts of items and ammo you can carry. You can't carry every gun at once, there is a storage matrix you need to efficiently sort.

Now if Human revolution can live up to the first one, I will be very happy

Kinda sounds like System Shock.
I have heard good things about the 2nd Dues Ex.
Human Revolution looks graphically beautiful, but like you said its not just about running around shooting everything...
The 1st one isn't too expensive on amazon, so I'll keep an eye on it.
