Microsoft Flight lands on February 29th

Flight sim is free-to-play, up to an extent, with further paid-for content available.

Last I heard, Flight Simulator X was a bit arcadish compared to earlier versions. Of course the graphics were improved...
Let me know if the free version still has pure simulation experience

I drifted away from MSFS about 4 years ago in favor of X-plane 9 and Condor. X-plane leaves a lot to be desired in interface and world design, but the flight mechanics leave MSFS in the dust. Condor is simply the best sailplane simulator that exists, period. The thermal generation in the MSFS series for sailplanes is an absolute joke compared to the wonderfully realistic thermal, ridge, and wave patterns of Condor.

I will try this out, though. If they made the flight mechanics comparable to X-plane, I'll probably switch over just to get the nicer graphics and world design. Better dust off my pedals, HOTAS, and yoke...

First time I used it was Flight Simulator 4.0, long time ago now. That was an impressive piece of software at the time.

I haven't played the newest version.
