Thumbs up Race for the Gold, or atleast some cool prizes

Anyone can drive in the NFS series of games. It takes true talent to be competive online in Nascar 2002. Most people don't like it because it's TOO HARD, but can't admit that and instead put the Nascar series of games down. Nascar 20002 is a true motorsport simulation of Nascar Winston Cup racing. Most of the winston cup drivers are active with this sim racing game. Nascar 2002 is not for the arcade race enthusiast, its more for the sim driver so expect to crash frequently until you can learn the game and master the tracks. I guarantee all you NFS, Colin Mcrae, rallysport, and F1 fanatics will go back to your beloved motor sim crying Nascar 2002 sucks after spinning out while trying out a road course. But if you can handle it, I here AthlonXP.com is starting a 12 race league either this week or next week which will include prizes such as watercooled cases, video cards, t-shirts, heatsinks, fans ...ect. So if you think you can handle it and not wreck every damn car in your path and can compete driving a clean race then head on over.

I played the demo on an older video card recently, I think I will try the demo again with the GF4 and see if I can make the turns any better now

Here's some tips if your looking to get a few more fps in the game:

My settings:

1280x960x16bit OpenGL mode

Turn maximum sounds heard down to 8 ( you won't notice audible difference) ingame.

Make sure you have vsync disabled in windows

Uncheck reflections ingame.

Cars drawn behind and ahead: set to 15

All other settings set to MAX

Original Visiontek GeForce-3: Getting 50fps

Make sure you view the tutorials given by Darrel Waltrip within the game and do make sure that the "Best Line" is enabled. This will ensure the fastest path around the track, it's also the safest.

Start slow and work your speeds up, always being careful and smooth with your wheel (Don't have one, GET ONE ) and be sure to ease on and off the gas in corners when necessary.

and most of all.......be patient, don't try and win the race on the first lap, its just not gonna happen. You'll either end up at the back, end up wrecking, or end up wrecking someone else.

If someone is faster than you, go high and let them by. Abide by these few suggestions then in no time you'll be up to the front running with the big dogs
