Gta3

Oh My Gawd!
This is posibly the dumbest and funnest game I have ever played. It's hysterical. If anyone has it you have to steal the fire truck. Cars bounce off it like pinballs. Also I have beaten a cop to death with a baseball bat then stoled his car and run over and killed several other cops and have only hit 3 badges once! What do you have to do to get all six lit up?

The only problem I have is when I use a USB gamepad it hicups and stutters. But when I play with the keyboard it runs smoothly. Changing the display settings to a lower setting has no effect. I am trying to coax my wifes sidewinder away from her to see if it does with a gameport gamepad. What else could be causing this.

Grand Theft Auto Pink. Pretty sweet game. Maybe try and see if there are any updates for the game or updates for your MOBO or gamepad that you are using.

LOL; you are too funny Pinks.

Does the PC version look like the PSX2 version? I've tried the PSX2 ver., it was really funny!

I heard the PC version wasn't as good. But I saw it running at work and it looked fine to me.

I tired the PC version and PS2 version. The PC version looks better but I preferred the PS2 version because the controller is nicer to use than the keyboard.

Well at least you can get it to work. It doesn't run on my PC Apparently it doesn't like NVidia Based g cards. Is this true??

I played GTA 3 round at my mates house the other week, funniest game ever! I was in hysterics when I got 6 wanted symbols, you get cop cars, the FBI and the military after you (in tanks no less). They're totally psycho, they were driving off the side of a bridge to get at me (it's funny watching a tank driving over the edge of a bridge, falling 20meters and landing in a pond in a great explosion).

Oh, and you have to try the plane, hard to fly but fun as hell...

If that was true then about 80 odd percent of pc's would be screwed.
Where did you hear that?
I have a mate who has a Voodoo 3 and he couldnt get it to work.

I have a dual-athlon system, and have yet to patch the game, as I have yet to purchase it. It runs about 25 FPS normally (damned Geforce2 MX-200) but dips to about 15 every now and again.

Difference between PC and PS2 version:
PC better hardware, higher framerate, higher resolution textures, higher quality audio
PS2 15-25 FPS constant, low-res textures, low-quality audio.

Aside from that, the only console controllers I've ver like were teh SNES and the GameCube.

One problem I have with the game itself, is that the adjustable draw distance only affects objects, and won't affect the map. I've got this friggin' huge polygon-filled city skyline chewing up my framerate, with peds and cars popping into view about 2 football-fields away.

I'm gonna get the badazz ATI card someday though. Unemployment sux.

I've run GTA3 with GeForce cards 2-mx400, 3 ti200, and 4ti4200 and the only problem I've had is the one that they pointed out in the troubleshooting of the readme file.

"Windows XP + nVIDIA based cards (possibly other brands):
We have found a possible problem with Windows XP that manifests itself
as graphical problems both in the game menu and also during game play.
We have traced this problem to be a Windows XP problem.
Technically this problem is solved by the use of a newer version of
d3d8.dll than is shipped on CD with Windows XP. (The version on the
Windows XP CD that has problems is 5.1.26000.0 – versions tested
without error include 5.1.2600.15 and 5.1.2600.29)
Currently the only way we know to update this dll file is to install
the Windows XP Patch: “The Computer Cannot Enter Standby or Hibernate
If a Direct3D-Based Screen Saver Is Running (Q306676)” downloadable
from the following Web Site:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...306676/WXP/EN-
US/Q306676_WXP_SP1_x86_ENU.exe.
This update may in the future be available as part of an official
Windows XP Service Pack, a Windows XP Compatibility Update, or possibly
a DirectX 8.1 update."

As for the game itself, I'm much more adept with keyboard controls from some reason, so I prefer the PC version.
