HD Tach might do the job, as long as you're using Win 9x. It's in AOA Files.

Yarr, I know the feeling. HD Tach insists that you purchase the non shareware version for testing all NT systems.

There's a fantastic HD BM prog that made for SCSI, yet tests IDE drives too. It's unabashedly freeware. Somebody HAS to remember its name! Sadly, it didn't like XP, either!

Now I remember, It's the ATTO disk test.

I gotta tell ya, the plethora of jumpers on SCSI HDD's scare me. The 1mm mini-jumpers can be bought from www.centrix-intl.com . A buck for a bag of ten.

The HDD's manufacturer's Web site should reveal the jumper settings for the drives. Not much help there, cloasters. Shame on me.
