Why? Get a larger drive, even if it's for an older system, format it as large as it allows... this way you can actually use it for something when the old machine dies.

if you want this for a newer machine, stop smoking crack so you can afford a larger, newer drive .

Yeah, maybe, but it's my dad's project and he's dirt cheap. I think it's stupid he wants to do anything to it, it's and old P200 that has some bad sectors and only starts up 1 out of 5 times so it's not very good.

Ive got a friend who wants a small hard drive for a old P200
Putting a £60 drive in it is overkill. It only needs about 10gb.

If i find anywhere (id prefer to buy one from a shop) ill let you know.

If anybody does have a small working hard drive the ydont use i might buy it from you. email me if your interested.

ermm... i'd thoroughly recommend against buying second hand hdds. they're mechanical, and as such are waaaay more prone to failure than practically any other pc part. esp. in transit. i've tried once, and got a supreme lemon. of course, you have no guaranatees or anything, so you're left high n dry. rather 60 quid on a new drive than 30 quid on a drive that breaks after a month.

I assume "quid" is the currency of South Africa, right? So what's the approximate quid to dollar conversion rate? I could look it up but I'm lazy

I was close. anyhow, I know of somebody who is selling 4gb drives for 35 including shipping, but I don't like buying used hard drives personally.
