Angry DVI and LCD annoyances

Having picked up a nice new shiny LCD monitor with only digital input, I've hit a problem!

I have a Gainward GF4 Ti4200 card, and this is coupled to the LCD via the DVI connector (The LCD has a DVI-D connector on it). When the POST screen is displayed, everything's nice and sharp, as it should be.

However, if the system is booted into DOS (and at the pre boot screen), the text is fuzzy! Most definately unsharp! This is in contrast to the POST screen which is in perfect sharpness.

Has anyone seen this before? Should I blame the monitor or nVidia or Gainward?

Send a message via ICQ to ByteWipe

Whats the make of the LCD? Could it be the cable connecting the two peripherals? (I know you can get like higher quality scart cables, etc. I realise this isn't the same thing, but it may apply)

Other than that, at a guess, i'd blame nvidia :-D

It's a Formac monitor. I doubt the cable, as a) it's DVI-D, and b) it works very well at desktop resolution!

Looking more closely at the text, basically, every other line is shunted across by about a pixel or so! Makes for wobbly text.

I wonder why it doesn't happen on the POST screen though?
