| A Toy for UB I got a real nice bonus from my employer and I've had my mind on for some time. I'm what you'd call a real slooooooooooow shopper! Anyhow, it's a Nikon Coolpix 5000. I ordered it today (MJ got some new furniture  ) so it should be here in a few days as it was in stock. I've never had a digital camera before and am looking forward to using my computing power for some different kind of fun.And yes, I'll post some pics! LOL

| i really never gave digital cameras a thought until just a little while ago ...now it looks like I'm going to have to buy another HD to store my pictures on hahaha a big one  thats a great looking camera UB

| Thats a superb camera.  Usual great Nikon lense and really easy to use. The only thing to look out for is battery life, the motorised zoom can chew batteries. Not a prob if you keep a spare handyI looked at it too but eventually went for one of the Minolta's just because it gave a slightly longer telephoto and the manual zoom.

| UB, let me recommend that you get a second camera. Something like a Minolta Dimage or a Canon S230. You're new toy sounds great, but it's kind of large and a pain to carry around. I'm sure your Nikon takes much better pics than the other two I mentioned, but sometimes, photo quality isn't everything. Take serious pics with your Nikon, like portraits or still lifes, but for simple pics, carry around a small camera. I got a Dimage last month and it's small enough for me to carry around with me everywhere. I take a lot more pics now than ever before.

| It was a good deal, I got a wide angle/macro lense, adapter ring, 3 filters and leather bag ....oh yeah and a camera! It all was about $850 when it all shook out. I hope I can keep up with you, Randy! It only can shoot at 1/4,000th of a second! LOL I had to charge the batteries overnight before I can use it!  I should have known.Night all.
