| Quiet PSU - a quiet power system I've just installed my water system with a new Papst 120mm fan on the radiator. At 12V its quieter than my odl sunon at 7V which cost half the price and vibrated all over the place; its virtually silent. I've trimmed down my case fans so they're virtually silent too. The noisiest part of my system is the PSU, a QTec 550W which was cheap and doesn't seem to provide much stability. SO I was shopping for a new one. Globalwin do a range of silent PSUs with variable speed control etc. Does anyone believe 320W would be enough for the system in my sig? Are globalwin known for clean PSUs (I'm assuming their HS past means they can achieve the silence part)? They claim to be as low as 22dB. Do antec, sparkle or enermax go that quiet? The main objective is silent, but as you can see this is no EPIA system.

| Since you have a generic psu right now you may want to try replacing the fans with Panaflo L1As that would definately quiet it up

| My Antec Trupower is very quiet. I too have a Q-tec in my second PC and when I installed the Trupower, in my main rig, I thought it was DOA because it was soooooo silent!? How about the CWT PSU's from Scan? They are quite cheap? Laz.

| Haven't seen scan on any of the UK sites I've looked at. I think I will go down teh road of buying higher qualtiy fans and installing them. Paying the price definitely gets you quieter fans.

| Ordered two Panaflo 80mm fans (the best I could find ona decent UK site). Also ordered a XP1700B to replace the XP1600. I understand the B revision generates less heat and my XP1600 has been overclocked so much that it wactually WILL NOT STAY STABLE AT STOCK. You have to throw 500MHz at ti to get it stable. Overclocked too hard too long and too hot.

| i have a Qtec 550watt psu cost £23, i modded both fans for 7v and its silent, actually the botton fan has trouble starting if the top one isnt on sucking air through >

| I got the Panaflo fans in there and they're perfect. Can hardly hear them. Gonna buy soem more and replace all the case fans with them. Ditching the old Akasa LED fans cos they're way too noisy - and too bright - its out of touch with the feel of the system. 4x£5 80mm panaflo is cheaper than a enermax. And the Qtec seems to be fine stability-wise for now.
