AFAIK, ViewSonic bought Iiyama more than two years ago. I don't know if Iiyama is a separate corporate entity that continues to build monitors to its superior standards or if a ViewSonic sticker hides under the Iiyama logo, in a manner of speaking.

I haven't been able to verify this at all, or any connection between the two companies?

I bought a ViewSonic E771 exactly three years ago, today. When I went to ViewSonic's Web site to register the monitor for warranty coverage, I distinctly remember reading that ViewSonic had acquired Iiyama.

Can I swear to it? I did read that factoid. Perhaps ViewSonic didn't wish to be seen as "watering down" Iiyama's reputation, and only ran the story for a short time?
