OK, I'm an idiot..........

I just bought an Antec PLUS660AMG Case and a p4p800 mobo and the case has front Firewire and USB 2.0 BUT i can't find the connector in the mobo for either of them. I know my mobo has USB2 connectors on the actual board but i cant tell what cord is which(FW or usb) coming FROM the case TO the mobo. It also says in the mobo manual that if i connect the FW to the USB pins on the mobo i'll fry it.


So where the hell on the mobo does the USB hook up to and where does the FW go!? ive checked EVERYWHERE in the manual for the FW and i can't tell which of the 2 cords leading FROM the case is FW and which is USB

I bet more than a handful of our Members know where these headers are on a P4P800. Little help, please.

Check page 2-30 of your maual. The header for USB is right next to PCI slot 3, just below the south bridge.

According to the manual there are no headers for firewire on the P4P800. However there are several versions of this board. Is your's a straight P4P800 or is it another varity of this board?

USB wires are usually marked VCC, data +, data -, ground. If there're 5 wires the 5th will be sheild.

I don't know the layout of your board but you will be looking for 1 or 2 rows of pins each with either 4 or 5 pins.
