Video Problem

Got a problem with my video..

Any site that has large pictures or banners seems to jump, or skip frames when I scroll down it (ie. frostytech.com)..

I tried lowering my card to factory specs and everything and nothing has changed it.. Still skips..

I have a 3d Prophet GF2 GTS Ultra card thats back down to factory specs now, and i'm not running anything else so it should be able to handle a simple webpage..

Any Ideas? video is my weakspot..

Double check your windows settings and see if the "Smooth Scrolling" option is on or off. Then try it the other way to see if that helps it.

Lemme guess - you're using IE, and the banner/graphic is animated? If so, it seems to be an IE problem - I've seen it happen on different machines with different graphics card chips with different versions of Windows.

The common link? IE.

YES! 98se w/ IE 5.5 and its animated stuff or big full color pictures that give it a problem.. I looked for that "smooth scrolling" setting but couldn't find it anywhere.. its standard nVIDIA Geforce 2 Ultra drivers/interface, so how hard could it be to find?

I don't remember having this problem before, altho I think I just downloaded this IE 5.5 update from Microlimp.. Have ya heard of a solution for this?

On 5.5, Smooth scrolling can be found under

Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->Browsing->Smooth Scrolling.

In the advanced tab, it's just above HTTP1.1 settings.

I haven't heard of a solution, but it seems to be a common enough problem. There were some ppl who complained about it here when lots of people had just started using animated avatars.

Perhaps "downgrading" to IE 5.1 will help. It works for me, with a much humbler Vidcard. Or, DL Opera. You might like it, a lot! www.opera.com .

Thx! I'll try that.. Smooth scrolling is enabled but I don't think I want to pick apart IE to downgrade.. I have a feeling that can cause some disasterous results with my system stability (cuz microsoft can't separate IE from their OS)
