Nec or LG DVD Writer?

Hello folks,

I think the time has arrived to buy a DVD Writer. I really don't care about DVD RAM and I know that LG has this, so what I really need is a DVD writer that will not fail in a couple of months or in other words a DVD writer that will not kill DVD discs.

Should I go with LG or with Nec? that's the question,

Hey Chris,

If theyre both multi format, toss a coin. My comp came with an oem Nec drive and I added a LG multi format about 4-5 months ago and both have been performing flawlessly.I installed the LG myself and all I had to do was mount it and plug it in, XP did the rest (didnt even need the drivers cd).Ive been using both for burning home movies and making backups and havent made a coaster yet.

When I give up the hope of getting an answer you've just come around. Thank's and I think I'll go with the Nec if the price for Plextor is not droping fast.
