over clcoking a laptop

has anyone ever had experiance with the new dell inspiration 9100 or xps.......has a 9800 portable and 3.2ghz p4 processor i was just wandering if any1 cld recommend how i cld overlock it to make it even better....and how i cld better cool it :P thanx in advance

I'm no expert at overclocking, though I've dabbled in it a bit. I wouldn't risk OC'ing a laptop. Most new laptops get incredibly hot as it is, and there isn't much to add in the way of cooling. Plus, if for some reason you screw something up, lots of things are actually soldered to the mobo and you'll have a hard and expensive time trying to replace parts. My recommendation is just that you be happy with what you have right now, it could be much worse.

BTW what kind of battery life do you get on something like that?

carry around a triangular ruler to place under the back of it. This picks it up and allows for some airflow to the underside, it also helps with the typing angle.

Use powerstrip or other program to OC the vid card and leave the CPU alone.
