sata drive on asus k8v deluxe

hi guys

i have a problem. i just bought a sata hard drive (raptor). i plugged it in but my bios wouldn't recognise it. so.... what gives?

p.s. oh yeah.... i put it on sata1.

ok... all viewing, no suggestions?

i figured out bios actually does see it as some "via blah blah" drive. widows see it as scsi drive. now, i suppose, i need to copy sata drivers on a discette(?) to install windows on it.

but! my system now freezes up when booting and then it says "overclocking failed press f1 to enter setup....". i didnt overclock it though... this started to happen after i connected the raptor.

any thoughts?

clear the cmos, then use the sata driver? it took me like almost a week to get my sata driver recognized by windows (before i even had an os), as i wasnt sure the problem and soyo wasnt helping much.
