Don't know where to put this.. lol.. but anyone know..

of a way I can block off a section of a room. The wife, daughter, and I are in a 2 bedroom apt.. My computers are in the main bedroom.. I am on call every couple of weeks and can usually fix them online.. problem is I usually get called really late in the night or early in the morning. Is there an easy way to block off where my computer is so a lot of light doesn't come through so it doesn't wake up the wife? Like one of those olden time changin screen wall dealios?

First idea that comes to mind is to use "Black-out"curtains.
Or curtains of any kind that get the job done. Then you can raise them or slide them aside...depending... when not in use.

yeah a nice thick black out curtain will be better than any solid temporary divides
should muffle the noie quite well as well due to the texture and shape

Do you own the house?

If so, putting up a partition wall is quite an easy job. You can leave out the tricky part, i.e. the door. Just use a curtain accross an opening at one end.

Nope.. don't own the place so don't want to do anything permament.. just looking for a low-tech inexpensive solution.. Thanks for the responses so far.

Do black out curtains come on stands? or do they have to be mounted somehow?

Mounted, celing or wall is most common. But you can build a square or whatever out of 1X2 lumber and stretch fabric over that.

my £0.02...Two hooks in the ceiling at either end of your room. A dark curtain with flexible cable hemmed at the top to connect to the hooks.
