| thanks for the feedback. alot of people don't look at the big picture, and the ties between companies and how that affect how other technology is introducted to the market. Hopefully as these shows go by, more will become evident. I see a major force about to emerge out there...but maybe i smelt too much paint thinner yesterday.

| dual cores if they ever take off will take some time, with the release of 64bit chips we are all sat waiting for software to take advantage of it, but at least they are solid chips when it comes to 32bit. with dual cores it's all or nothing, it's either roughly double the performance gain or none, so on the one hand intel/amd will want to price them accordingly, and on the other the public will see the lack of benefits with current software, the increased price, power needs, and heat and not be too tempted |

| AMR and HyperMemory are two very promising things..I've posted a bit about them, as they are starting to get me a bit excited. ATI has had this functionality built into thier GPU's for quite some time, and a few years ago, now, there was a dual-core 9600 and more rencently a dual 9800XT(R360), so we know that the ATI GPU's can already communicate. The driver side of things has been there for ages, with SMARTGART. The best part is that nVidia have made SLi a big deal with bridge pcb's, and such, and make it look like some big fancy thing to get it to work, but I'm pretty sure that ATI's solution, when it ever gets released, will not have the same difficulties as nVidia have had. Oh, and something new...Nvidia 6200's can be modded into 6600's. talk about cheap SLi, should a board maker release ones with SLi interconnects....

| For power users, I think dual core will make a significant difference in the overall responsiveness of the machine, even if it doesn't make everything go twice as fast. It will give you the ability to do two things at the same speed you could do one before. For Ma and Pa Kettle I think it will still make a difference, but not as great. You think those AV and Spyware checkers running in the background come with no performance penalty?
