LCD/CRT Monitors where to buy in WA?

I got a friend coming into a decent chunk of money soon and he's going to build himself a setup i think. He as going to go a 17inch LCD screen but im trying to convince him otherwise to save some cash for more important components.

I don't have issues with CRT Monitors and they are far cheaper so im trying to talk him into one(19inch CRT still cheaper then 17inch LCD). But i don't know any good places to look at prices in WA(Western Australia).

mate, you can get some lcds pretty damn cheap if you know where to look. a 17" is $322 australian. thats for a 14ms response, 800:1 contrast generic. Generic brands are all good because they all use the same brand name panels. for $500 you can have a 19" LCD.

i just bought two of these for my 3dsmax work and got a discount price 2 for $850.
i can probably find these prices in sydney or perth if you like however you may be better off getting them shipped from a major city if you need it in WA.

If you wait long enough lcds will be far cheaper. one of the guys i went to high school with is working on lcds for phillips and told me what the profit margins were like. phillips CRTs are more expensive than LCDs of equivilant or even larger size to make lol. As the market becomes further saturated prices are going to tank. His expectation is an average quality 17" will cost around $135-$145 by april 2006.
