Here's one for the museum:
The 1st alienware PC!

The verdict is priceless!

Says it has good case design. Where as the case is just a generic biege one. Although, there wasn't much else around in '97, as far as I can remember.

Interesting to see that some of that old hardware has started to increase in value.

I was just looking at consoles on ebay, looks like you were as well!

First one I had was the Atari 2600 "woody".

wasn't the sega cd the first cd based console? Or was it the PC Engine? I remember the CD32 being the first 32bit console...

if you want to make sure which is which, just check out the attached pic of some guy's console collection

A case with a tidy interior was considered "good design" back then. One of the reasons I hated that era of computing.

The comment about the lack of any alien inspired design is funny considering how current alienware cases look though.

Just looked it up. Amstrad console was 1990 and the Amiga one was 1993. Although, Amstrad is UK and Europe only.

How about computers seen in science fiction movies? The real low budget ones had magnetic tape on reels that only spun in the same direction!

HAL being the favorite!

I friend once worked with the guy who did the voice for HAL. He said that he would get freaked out when the guy called him on the phone. He speaks in exactly the same way in real life.
