overclocking my graphics card?

what is the easiest way to overclock my geforce mx440? should u use nvidias ntune? if so where can i download it from?

Download one of the XG drivers from AOA Files and you should have all that you need (search thru the menus) test for artifacts with AtiTool, you can also use it for OC-ing if you have another Ati card. Do you have a way to see the card's temperature? (you must watch it carefully) Talk to Dsio..he's the NVidia specialist around here

i dont think i have a way of seeing its temperature.

i have pritty good cooling on it though, i think i jerry riged a artic cooling vga silencer rev 3 onto it

The MX440 won't have a temp readout but those things don't get hot anyway, in fact I would go so far as to say the VGA silencer can cool it without the fan even overclocked.

I don't know if the atitool artifact detector would work on the MX440 though, I think it uses pixel/vertex shading which the MX440 doesn't support, you may just have to run some 3dmark loops and keep an eye out for artifacts or corruption

uh, this may seem like a silly question, but what exactly is a artifact?

A glitch on the display. Sometimes it shows up as polygons going places where they shouldn't, other times it shows up as coloured dots. It's basically anything that shouldn't look the way it is.

They're caused by excessive heat or too high an overclock with the GPU
