Welcome to AOA's Forums, Smoney22!

The prices of quality power supplies have creeped up, no doubt. We ask a hell of a lot from our PSU's, modern CPU's and Vidcards suck a LOT of power out of the wall. Ya just can't make it vamp if you don't got those amps--and very clean Amperes at that. The very best big PSU's now cost hundreds and hundreds of those Yankee dollars. I hope that hundreds will be sufficient the next time I buy a PS. The pain.

I'd personally avoid antecs, they're solid reliable stable units, but their efficiency isn't much differant from a generic unit, though it's not as bad with the newer ATX V2 units, which are around 63-72%, it's still not up to enermax standards, and way off a seasonic

This noisetaker is actually cheaper than that as well

And this seasonic is only a little more and these have like 83-87% efficiency at the levels most systems draw
