Question Cdrw + Dvd = 100% ?

I just saw that my pc isn't behaving normaly. I was copying a cd and the proc was @ 100% used. What the hell happened? I did not used Nero Burning interface instead I used Nero StartSmart. Could this be the prob? Here are some pics:

PS. DVD device is master on IDE1 and CDRW master on IDE2

Sounds like dma isn't enabled for the drive

OK the blame goes on the CDRW and PIO mode. Now all it's fixed (DMA) and runs normal. TX Graham !

Just saw this and thought id check my own after major slow down on writing etc (P10 mode here too). It was my cables - look good but were cheap, put others in and now its on udma2 - u33. still better to perform well than top look good IMO.

I have run Far Cry bench while a CD was written and had no slowing down!
