My speakers are killing me! Ok, so I bought some logitec 5.1 x530's a while ago, cause I needed new speakers, but I was low on money. So I take them out, put them in, and only the subwoofer, and the front left and right spekers work, but the sounds of back and center come out of them too. So I put up with it for a week or two. Then I decided if I buy speakers I want them to work right. So, I checked all the wires, and reloaded my mobo sound drivers, and what does it do? It makes it worse. Now, Only my subwoofer and center speaker are working, and I can only hear things in front of me. Which sucks when playing Cs. Anyways, this is really getting me annoyed so if any of you have any suggestions that would be great.

What mobo are you using? Are you using it with a sound card or on board jacks?

I have an Asus P5GD1, with onboard 8-channel audio. My speakers came with no software what so ever by the way. Are you sure you got the same kind, because in the instruction manual I'm pretty sure they don't mention installing drivers.

Have you checked the settings in Control Panel --> Sound and Audio devices and set it to be 5.1 .Having a look at your Mobo manual ,as it is onboard audio they should be having some kind of a description for the jacks available and the proper way to connect and configure ....... |

somewhere in that utility it should give you port maps for the different levels of support 4.1,5.1,6.1 etc, they will prolly change with the different settings.
