hdtv tuner cards and lightning

i just picked up a new 24" dell display and its absolutely amazing. im eager to plug an hdtv signal into it, but im very afraid of hooking my computer up to an antenna because of the risk of lightning damage. any ideas? perhaps i could use a seperate unit that plugs into the screen? or maybe some box exists that would prevent this dangerous kind of surge.

Is lightning really an issue? I'd have thought it's a pretty rare occurence, and if it did happen I'm sure insurance would cover you.
It's no different to plugging anything else into an aerial socket. Maybe there's a sort of surge protector you could use. Do a Google is my best suggestion.

Lightning is a BIG concern in Central Florida and yes there are surge protectors that have built in protection for tv cables.
