Cool, i think i'd rather go with a Tagan. They are quite reliable as i gather.

Hey RF, does the Tagan U22 come with a ton of leads that fill your case up? I'm considering the 430 or 480W one but cant decide whether to go modular or not? Also are all the cables nicely sleeved? Got any pics?

Laz,

It has got quite a few leads, the ones that arnt sleaved are kinda nicely braided together so they would be really easy to sleave. The leads that are sleaved are really neat rubber coated jobbies with EMI sheilding. There are two PCIe and 1 HDD done like this, the 12v 4 pin plug is braided in the snake skin stuff along with the main mobo plug. The mobo plugging system is really nicely done, its kinda modular so you dont need loads of adapters. great PSU i love mine! Well see how it copes with my new 3700 SD and 7800GT as soon as they are deliverd:

Best picture, doesnt do it justice! care that in mind! you could check out this months PCextreme as they have got a massive PSU test on!

Hope this helps. RF

Hey RF, what case is that? I think I've seen a similar Tagan to yours, but it was dead! Looking at the 480W version of yours for about £64, trying to find the cheapest postage....

Don't worry about wattage, it's quality that's important. I hear Seasonics are good but I really couldn't say.

I know but the 400w is only $10 cheaper so I recomended the 600w.
The active PFC is onnly 75-85% so it really only 450-500w effective.

Yeh RF, what do you reckon to the Easy-con 2Force Tagan vs the standard wired unit? For virtually the same price, £70, I could get the 480W Easy-con unit which should be tidier to cable? hmmm.. choices choices....

The PFC efficiency is to do with how much power it draws to supply its rated wattage, not how much of its rated power it will provide.

for instance a 600w rated psu that is 75% efficient will be drawing 800w from your socket.

Since i won't be gettin' some money for atleast a month or so i've decided to get a HIS X800GTO ICEQII. And maybe an Opteron 146. An EPoX 9NPAJ (non-sli) is on my buy list.

Three problems with your choices:

1) The board you mentioned is AGP
2) The Graphics card you mention is PCI-E
3) You still dont get it that you should be buying the SAPPHIRE X800GTO2!!

I would guess the internals of the PSU are identical, so its down to you... i personally enjoy hiding the cables but i can definatly see the advantages of the easy con.
