Epox, DFI and Asus...examples

Not to bash either of these companies, as they make great products, but I've seen the best reviews from the ASUS board.

I have had a few GTX's...actually bought 4 of them so far, and sold 2.

Right now, it's luck of the draw. each brand card has higher-rated cards, so there is at least SOME binning going on.

My personal choice would be the leadtek 7800GTX, because of the quadro4500 heatsink, however, buying one of the others and then replaceing the heatsink may be a better alternative.
I'm awaiting the eVGA KO heatsinks for my cards, as they both run @ 490+/1300+.

two xfx 7800 GTX but the GT cost half the price. and you get COD2 free now. and why put SLI with dualcore dual sucks with games. thats a bad decision. sell it on ebay and get a 4000+ that overclock 2.7 no problem.

A 7800GTX does not cost twice as much as a 7800GT. $475 is not twice as much as 330$. I promise. Cadaveca is right, only give advice if you are absolutely positive you know what you are talking about.

madcatMK3 i have tested both my 3800xp+x2 4600 and i find that the x2 4600 played games a little better i got a few more fps on some games (farcry,bf2,swg) but i really think that dual core gameing will really start when the next gen consoles come out. thats
when the single core cpu like fx,xp will just not be up to the job. from what i beleave its all todo with the programing in the future all games will need a dual cpu. if there ever do bring out a next gen game for the pc then it will have tobe a dual cpu to run so thats why i got the x2 4600 i was looking at the fx cpus but they are not the future.i think cadaveca is right in all what he says.

Stick with your Dual core... little over a year, you'll see the preformance gains.

I was like how I always told my friends when the 9800pro's came out, to go 128mb, becuase the 256 wasnt worth the extra 100$...well 6 months later that double VRAM really would have helped.

Not reading all the posts, try out XFX, formally pine tech, highest from-factory OC (even beating BFG)

acutally, i have the highest overclocking stock card. it is an asus. 430/1200 default to 565/1370.

However, because of the issues i have in getting a proper RMA on another product, i can only tell you to steer very clear of any asus product. should it fail, you may not be able to make a warranty claim.

My current claim was started June26th, so it is now 4 solid months, and i have yet to receive a replacement card, or my own card repaired.

Actually..they don't even know where i should send the card. They cannot offer me any sort of warranty based on my location. I purchased this item and paid the extra because of the extended warranty in comparison to other OEM's, but in light of this faulty item, and the faulty items that have replaced it, i cannot suggest ASUS products to anyone.

but this one card sure does clock high!

this is on overclockers.co.uk

ep-9npaj-sli = 80
x2 4600 running now
corsair twinx 2 gig = 212
raptor 74 gig = 125
enermax 620w sli rdy = 111
xfx7800gt in sli = x 2 = 540

its not cheap i really wanna build a sli pc how. would you make this better?

get rid of the raptor and get a larger drive. the added noise is not worth the minimal performance increase. I have the enermax 565p-ve Sli...this would be enough but if you are overclocknig the more the merrier. take the saved cash and go for the GTX's...

Get a tagan 530W, it's about £60 and is suitable for SLi systems. Change the raptor for something like a seagate 200Gb, they're only about £60 for an OEM and not much more for retail. Then like cadaveca says, spend the extra on GTX's. Oh yeah, change the 2 gig memory for some Corsair XMS, 1 or 2gig is your choice, or even some Corsair XL.
