Out of HDD Space??

Hi guys

I currently have 1 GB free on my C: drive I just uninsalled aload of suff used Add & Remove programs (this was 5gb worth) however it still says I have 1 Gb free. This used to hapen to me all the time on Win 98 but just ran scan disk and all was fine. Any way of doing the same on XP?? I have rebooted and run disk cleanup to no avail,

thanks

It's standard to leave 15% free space on your HDD. Folks see free space and want to load her up, but Win XP needs 15% of the partition/actual disk free to have breathing room. Hard drives aren't very expensive nowadays. Go Ultra SCSI 320. Kidding! IDE and SATA work just fine for SOHO use.

"The motherboard installation section essentially said "refer to motherboard manual for installation instructions". My motherboard manual of course said "refer to case manual for further installation instructions"."

Try a "chkdsk /?" in the command line .
I'd try "chkdsk c: /F /R" given that c: is the partition with problems. Also you can try a temporary file cleaner (I use the free CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/).
