Somewhat embarassing Nub ram question

If I have 4 DDR slots, and I am using a pair of Dimms, should I have them in 1 and 2 or 1 and 3?

I have seen people with them in 1 and 3, and I am just not sure if this is to fit their ram sinks in, or because that's where they should be.

depends on the motherboard. Some enable dualchannel in 1&3,2&4, but others are 1&2,3&4...best to consult your manual.

I'd start with 1 and 3, but...You know this is high art, right? ":O}
In the end it's whatever works or works best...

They are in the right slots for dual channel operation--generically speaking.
