My DVD +/- RW drive is having problems.

Is there maybe some kind of lens cleaning kit that might help me? Details below...

Just the other day I tried to re-install CoD2 and it kept having problems and I thought I just had a bad CD.

I knew the CD was working because I had already finished the game a week before so I ran the CD through the disc doctor. That didn't help. So I gave up on that becasue I had to leave.

Then on Saturday night I tried playing a DVD and it froze up and stopped playing about halfway through. I took it out, wiped it off and I wouldn't even play at all.

Any reccomendations will be greatly appreciated.

Radio Shack sells them. So does Walmart (if you go there) Kmart as well. Should be about $11 for a "kit".

Thanks robbie. I am hopeful that using one of these kits will fix my problem. I'll look for one at Wal-mart or Staples next time I go into town.

Follow-up: I got the kit but it didn't help. After taking the drive apart I noticed It isn't spinning right so I think there is something wrong with the drive motor. The drive is only 14 months old and it came with a 1 year warranty, go figure. Anyways I went ahead and bought a new one from Newegg.

Check the piece that "holds the CD/DVD down" I've seen it were the felt works it 's way loose and the that's the reason the CD/DVD doesn't sping right. (ie no traction)
