Please NOTE:
There is a REASON why they call those Photo carts... the drum (yellow round thing on the cart) IS very sensitive to light. Please DO NOT LEAVE OUTSIDE OF THE MACHINE more than necessary.
Thank you.

EDIT!!!
Never mind... these are just the "dev" units and NOT the drum carts.
MY BAD!!
(rule still appies for drum carts though)

Now I have a problem with a friend 2550 printer. It's out of warranty with about 3 months and it's printing just so wrong! You print 3 sheets and maybe 2 of them looks similar but the third is different in colour. Another friend told me after he saw it that it is possible that it's not putting the correct amount of Cyan on the page. So if my friend prints 10 colour pages almost each of them is different in regards of colour ! Can anything be done???

What can you expect, it's three months out of warranty. Sheeit, engineers are mighty good at designing planned obsolescense these days. They probably get fired if they find a simple way to make the product last longer.

This is true. But, I'm not complaining. The printer is cheap at about £300. A few years ago a colour laser was way out of my reach.

It comes with about £120 worth of toner. So, even if it breaks down after a year. Effectively, It will only cost £180 to replace.

I used to have a full on, A3 colour laser printer/copier. Bought second-hand by my employer at the time. It was old, but cost about £50,000 when it was new. The cost of spares for that were very expensive.

Mine is only A4, which is all I need. But, it is never going to cost me an arm and a leg to repair or replace.

50,000 GBP. Holy crudola, did you have to hire a full-time security staff so that it couldn't "walk" away? Heck, 5000 quid sounds like a hell of a lot of cabbage for a colour laser nowadays.

It cost £5,000 second-hand. The thing is that the toner costs, in terms of per page, are very low. So, if you are printing in large volumes it works out quite cheap.

My cheap laser costs about 7p per page, where as with a bigger machine its would cost about 2p or less.

No security was needed, the door and frame had to be removed from the office to get it in. LOL

There is only 1 drum unit and then 4 toner carts.

So, when you say *they* are new, what are you referring to?

The drum unit is a consumable part. Has to be replaced after X thousand pages. They cost about £50.

I managed to refill the magenta toner cart, no problem. All working fine!

This is where I got the toner from:
