Maybe epoxy is too much of a permanent solution, my bad.

I've had several dirty pots, but I've always found that some soap and a good scrub brush pretty much solves that problem....

Maybe you could try with some sort of tape?

I ended up using some epoxy on one monitor. I had it adjusted is so the screen was perfectly crisp and then just added a dap of epoxy to the side.
I didn't clean it off to make it not so permanent, but it should work.
On my monitor, I just drilled two holes in the side of the Case so I can just stick a screwdriver in there an adjust it whenever I want. But If I have to do it every week, then I may just do the epoxy thing.
That really seems to be the only problem. I played some games this weekend and it looks great. No problems with brightness.

The Third monitor does flicker a few times before it sets the resolution and the brightness is too high. I have to adjust the brightness to zero to make it tolerable. Then I have to use the gamma/brightness/contrast settings on the video card to make it perfect. That one may have a problem with the voltage regulation.
Is there a way to adjust that, or am I out of luck with that monitor?

I forgot to mention... I use nail polish to "set" screws and keep them in place. Sometimes the women in the office give me funny looks when I ask to borrow some.

I wouldn't think soap and water would do the trick. You have to burn the pot.

Pot burning won't go over well in the office. Outside by the Dumpster, preferably around the corner... Wait a minute, that was a loong time ago. Nevermind.

Just in re to the first few posts about capacitors..you can always do what my father did (he used to work as a TV tech but in a disposable society that job is pretty much redundant) he would cross two capacitors with a screwdriver...always fun to watch the spark mind you when the charge "crossed" the plastic handle..never heard a man swear so much

My best experience with a monitor was a crappy one my dad gave me ..no casing on it and to adjust the h-sync he had soldered a knob to the bottom of the PCB so I had to adjust it by hand..one day I slipped, touched the PCB and created a circuit....my hand didn't release until the circuit breakers in the house kicked in
