Fast writes doesn't bring any performance gain. It only causes stability issues in some cases.

Set your AGP aperture size to 64Mb or 128Mb. Your card has 256Mb onboard memory which should be quite enough. If it isn't and your aperture size is also too small then the OS will grant extra system memory anyway, if available.

Try to keep your 3D and 2D performance settings the same. Use rivatuner and make it force a constant 3D performance level. That seems to help many GF6800xx owners.

Set your AGP frequency to either Auto or 66Mhz. Try switching the setting if it is in one of those states.

Just a note on your issue with OC and lower score. My card reaches a point where the more I push it the lower the score gets. I am not sure why but it does happen with several driver versions. I use riva tuner to adjust all of my card settings with great results. there you can make sure your card is running at the desired settings....

Hey all, thanks again for all the suggestions. Got around to trying a basic install this evening from the standard XP disc. After installing that I put on the drivers for the motherboard components, installed directx and then installed the graphics card drivers. I then ran 3dmark05 but still only score 5000. I'm really at a loss now, I don't suppose any of you have any further ideas do you?
