Multi-Media-Card hosed.

I recently backed up all the college work I had on my computer to an MMC card but the card seems to have formatted itself somehow. Can anybody recomend any freeware or at least 30 day fully functional trial software that can help me recover the lost information.

Most freeware recovery programs are very limited. There are soem rather inexpensive ones that work great. I have one I paid 50.00 for and have used it over and over to recover formatted data and accidently deleted data....

Could you please let us know what "rescue" software has worked well for you, Samuknow?

I use File Scavenger....Works great. Simple to use....and is fairly cheap, for this type of software....

Flash memory, it's a bout the same size as a normal SD card.

Thank you for the info and the link, devilmyarse. The portable memory "sticks" that plug into a USB port are named "thumb drives" by comparison? Just asking, if you have the time.

Think so, don't have much experience with them. Commonly I think their known as either 'memory sticks' (which is a bit confusing, due to the Sony Memory Stick and the pro, duo, mini versions) or thumb drives.
