Done with onboard sound!

Last night i got fed up with my onboard sound. Every time i watch a DVD i have to switch it to stereo sound because the 5.1 will not work properly, i couldnt hear the center channel at all. Well, i fixed the problem. Since i am on a very small budget, i went and bought a Sound Blaster Audigy SE.....and compared to my onboard sound....WOW, what a difference! Now my surround works perfect, and in games i can hear things i couldnt hear before, it is truly a great thing. Now, my onboard sound was NForce 2 Soundstorm, which i thought was not too bad, but boy was i wrong. I should have switched a long time ago. I just thought i would share my new found joy with you guys. Thanks for listening.

I have had plenty of problems with my onboard sound and games. Doom3 for one. after about 10 min of game time it just stops playing sound. Same chipset as yours. Went to a SB live and all is well.

Got fed up of the onboard sound and switched to a £20 Audigy 2 ZS.

Yea, i got this Audigy se at Walmart for 28 dollars. It is 24bit, 96khz, and supports 7.1 surround, EAX HD, and all that good stuff. It sounds fantastic compared to my old onboard sound. I will never use onboard sound again. This Audigy SE is a fantastic deal for the money, you cant beat it for the money.

I thought the Audigy 2 Zs would just be a tiny upgrade but i was wrong, you only really notice the difference with lots of speakers attached..6 infact!
