Time to retire old sparky (need a new PSU)

I just upgraded to an X2 4600. I left the settings the same, and it booted at 2712. I was impressed, but it turns out that my trusty 400 watt Sparkle PSU, which has been with me since my XP1600 on an 8K3A+, isn't up to the load. Dual core CPU, a power hungry video card, and multiple hard drives = sudden instant shutdowns. I had to drop it down just a little over default speed!

I'm looking for a recommendation for a new PSU. My trusty Sparkle will be pressed into service for folding as soon as I find a deal on a 939 motherboard to house my 3200+.

Enermax makes awesome and stable PSU's. I would highly recommend one.

Seasonic make some of the most efficient PSU's around and they're modular too.

I just bought a Fortron AX500-A. Reviewed here, http://www.cluboverclocker.com/revie..._source/ax500/

Things got so bad I had to put my 3200+ back in. With the 4600 dual core, even at default speed, it was shutting down, crashing programs, and generally acting up. Even scrambled some files, and wouldn't boot until I copied vgaoem.fon from the XP disk.

Looking forward to getting my X2 back in, and seeing what she'll do.

Well, you upgraded your sparkle, for another.

FSP = Fortron = Sparkle

It's a good company, and thats a good PSU
