Ahhh so here we have the real reason they're taking that $200 loss or whatever it is per console

What's the power consumption like on a PS3 when it's folding?

Google searches seem to suggest that the PS3 consumes just above 200W of power while folding or playing games.

Potentially they could pass the profits on to users through Playstation Store game credit. I must say, the games I've downloaded through that so far are absolutely brilliant.

Tekken 5 was AU$15, and 4 other arcade type games (full) were $7.20 each. All immensely fun, and if they start offering their PS1/2 back catalogue for similar dosh, its well worth it.

By the way, I've upgraded my hard disk to a 160GB (Garage sale Samsung 2.5" sata disk, $5)

Ordered the customary 40" Samsung 1080P LCD TV to go with it too... should be here Friday next week to go in the 'blokes room' in the new house I'm moving in to.
