Another well respected marque will disappear? "OCZ" just doesn't have the cachet, IMHO.

'cept their RAM has often been given high marks, and their PSU's have been considered good. Maybe better now with the PCP&C addition, but I'll bet higher pricing too.

PC P&C are well respected in the overclocking community for building rock solid PSUs. However, being the best doesn't always translate into being profitable.

I think Rolls-Royce would agree with that!

Truth be to tell, some PC P&C power supplies are priced in RR territory. For a PSU, that is.

I have fingers and toes crossed that OCZ will NOT mess with PC P&C's quality. Sorry folks, OCZ's own PSU's simply do NOT measure up to PC Power&Cooling standards. Let us pray...

It's a strange deal. OCZ currently markets power supplies aimed at the same customer base that a good portion of the PCP&C units are aimed at. There will be a change somewhere, hope it's not at the PCP&C end. I haven't been overly impressed with many of the OCZ products that have crossed my desk.

I would like the think that they will re badge the PC P&C supplies with the OCZ name. That is what makes sense.

Maybe it's best to expect the worst. I get tired of doing that, perhaps I should purchase a new PC P&C power supply right now, before corporate creep can mess things up? You know, fire the engineers in Carlsbad, get new suppliers in China, forever tarnish the once proud escutcheon.

I can see at lest two ways for this to go. OC is looking to make a step up in quality and thinks it can better market P&C product. Which in as much as I know OCZ and don't know P&C, they may have a marketable point.

Or they want to expand facilities to build their cheap stuff, possibly in P&C good name...

But who knows, they may just write it off as a tax loss, common sense rarely applies..":O}

There's always Zippy, Silverstone and Etasis to turn to if something happens with PCP&C. All known for superior quality but at a price premium.

Well, there are plenty o' good PSU makers to pick from. I wouldn't say the field is narrowed to just 3 or 4, and even the best names put out a mediocre one sometimes. You just gotta do your research, as always.
