B...b...but doesn't paper burn rather easily? With all of the overheated batteries out there, I'm just asking.

I guess, all dry batteries burn quite easily.

If it turns out to be safe, then I can see this being very useful for laptops and the like

Just think what this will mean for larger higher density batteries. Battery driven carts and such. Smaller lighter batteries. Maybe?

I don't think these paper batteries will yield higher density, so much as making it easier to build batteries in different custom form-factors.

I wonder if the greeting card industry will jump on this? Seems like a natural fit.

It could be very useful for soldiers, police, or anyone who needs to wear batteries to power radios, and devices. If the weight of a battery is evenly spread throughout a jacket, then the wearer is not so restricted in movement.

Plus, if it is modular, as in several sheets in different parts of the garment, then it cannot be fully damaged so easily.

If you combine that, with a bullet proof vest made from spider's silk, you could have a fairly thin sweatshirt which is both bullet proof and a battery.
