Rebuild 2007 High-End RIG!

Hello. How are you doing to days folks ? I hope fine, Keep your self Warm.

I build my Rig on 5/1/2007 IT WAS a 3000$ System Without Monitor.... Now days it worth 1000$ I think... IT was pretty Strong! Now mmmm Weak...

However, Some hardware on it is pretty fine.... This is the List of Hardware

* Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 ver 1.0
* CPU : Intel E6600 @ 3.6
* Memory : Transcend 2X 1GB @ 800Mhz
* Power Supply : Enermax 1000 Watts
* Video Card : Asus X1950XTX 512MB
* Sound Card : Creative Audigy 2 ZS 2 Platinum
* CPU Cooling : Gigabyte 3D Rocket II
* Hard Drive 1 : Western Digital SATA 80GB 8MB
* Hard Drive 2 : Western Digital SATA 250GB 8MB
* Operating System : Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit

So You can see it's Old, Yeah most of new games I can't enjoy them also I don't feel it Give me the power that I want to game and do the normal things I do .... Also the Sound Card is dead and the Ram is not enough...

I was going to Sell the VGA Card If I get a good deal... I hope.. This the List of things that I plan to change in this year..

* Sound Card : Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 80$
* Hard Drive 3 : Western Digital SATA 250GB 8MB ( To make 1TB in the Main PC )
* Hard Drive 4 : Western Digital SATA 500GB 8MB ( need More Space on Main PC )
* DVD Burner : LG \ SAMSUNG 20X SATA ( I have IDE one with Sata converter it make problems and slow the BIOS.. and it's in bad condition )
* Case : Gigabyte Triton 180 Black ( It's half Price of Araruo 570 for 2 Hard disk Slots )
* CPU Cooling : Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme ( You told me It's the best )
* Video Card : ASUS EN8800GT TOP ( I heard it's the best )
* Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 Rev.1 ( I Paid some money to the Gigabyte showroom and he RMA it for me Even that's it's out of warranty... money do any thing lol )
* Memory : Transcend 1GB @ 800Mhz ( New 1 GB More to get 3GB but I don't know about the Dual Channel thing )

This upgrades going to coast around 700$ US dollars I think.. If I can sell the VGA for 400 or 350 $ it will be my lucky day.. How it wroth now ?

SO This is my plans for this year to Stay in the line and enjoy my computer

What do you think ? I need little help To make sure I'm on the right Way

Thanks and good luck for all of you ...

I think you'll be hard pressed to sell the card for even $350. Assuming it's USD. Especially since you can get a 8800GT for a little over half that.

The upgrades you have planned look good for the budget you've allotted.

The sound card is a downgrade, the Audigy 2 ZS plat is a far better card than the X-Fi Gamer

Also I'd recommend a Pioneer 20X SATA DVD-RW over the Samsung. Pioneer have always been the best in the business.

Two reasons mainly, X-Fi's aren't up to scratch quality wise, and the I/O connectivitiy, but if that isn't an issue for you then yea why not.

If I had the choice between the two though, hands down I'd get the A2.

Audigy2 ZS with the audigy4 driver hack.

still undecided on whether 3gigs in single channel is a good idea. More memory is always good, but the tradeoff will be throuput..
