DDR2 1066 compatible?

Hi all,
in my current rig project, i'm planning on upgrading my current DDR800 to DDR1066 within a few weeks (possibly a few days if i decide i'd be better getting it now and then using what i have next time i get payed for my new CPU (which is gonna to be a Q9450 or better )). However, the FP-IN9 SLI motherboard that i have doesn't mention anything about compatibility with DDR1066. I said i wasn't going to go "below best" on components once it was all in place, but i want to be sure that DDR1066 will work with this motherboard (i.e. is it the same as it was with DDR compatibility?).

Cheers,
Scott.

It's pretty much the same as DDR, as long as it has an SPD for the lower clocks it will boot up at say DDR2-800.

Depending on the timings and voltage needed to boot you may have to boot one stick into the bios to adjust voltage and such then install the other.. Most will boot both sticks just fine though..

Ah, so there's no chance it'll run at the faster speed (the chipset on this board is the NF650i SLI) without either buying a new board or hoping there's a new BIOS that supports it?

Either way, i purchased a 24" widescreen monitor and a new PSU for this month. New CPU (and possibly 1 out of 2 8800GTS) next time.
