The titan doesn't seem to compare because its not a laptop like the Eee PC. Its just the computer without the monitor. Not so portable when you have to haul around the LCD. The Eee PC has a lot more going for it when its a tiny laptop with Linux inside.

There was a rumour started that Asus had an Eee desktop in the works, citing the Asus EP20. However, this may not be the case. People have suggested that the PX20 (the EP20's brother) might well be a dry run to see how the market responds to such a system. The EP20 is rumoured to have a 1.87GHz Intel dual core processor, and a 2.5 inch HDD instead of flash The PX20 is supposedly a 900Mhz Dothan processor with 512Kb L2, 1GB DDR, the 910GML chipset and a 120GB SATA HDD, which doesn't sound that far off the Eee range.

However, the MSI system doesn't come with any software, and looks suspiciously like a Mini-ITX board in a small case.

Thing is, it's taking a long time for them to become affordable for a price sensitive market...

At least ASUS put an OS on their system.

You know, you're right. For simplicity its better to allready have an operating system than nothing. Most users won't even know how to install an operating system and windows will cost them $$ as opposed to Linux customized just for Eee PC.
