Candidly, I was expecting a quantum leap in performance. 0.3 milliseconds access time is outstanding, but this very expensive SSD isn't worth its cost of ~$900 for 64 Gb of storage. If you can afford it, why not buy one? It's a cool piece of tech. Thank you for posting this, danrok!

These drives should be cheap to buy eventually.

New and improved memory cards for cameras are always a crazy price to begin with.

Maybe very fast memory access and retrieval is "too fast" for computational devices? I expected "lightning fast" performance from a SSD, perhaps this is beyond a standard PC's capability?

Frustrating that the review just digs the surface though. What are the average random write times like?

SSD's don't provide lightning fast performance - they have limitations too. FLASH is inherently slow compared to RAM.
