sub $80 cpu/motherboard/ram combo

I'm looking for a cpu/motherboard/ram combo that is at least a dual core processor and 1gb of ram. I don't care if its amd or intel. I would like it to have a pci express 16x.

PS:I don't care where it comes from ebay is fine.

Here is a Pentium D dual core on ebay
Pentium D

motherboard: ECS 945GCT-M

Pick up a 1 Gig DDR2 PC 667 at New Egg for $20 and get a decent bid on the CPU and motherboard above. I bet you could be around $80

Once upon a time ECS made good mainboards. Alas, their reputation has slipped. Personally, I'd avoid the brand. They built a premium board a while back, but I've never learned how good/bad it was.

I've got an ECS board-It never was very stable. It didn't take me long to buy an Epox and never look back

I have a ecs mobo folding now for 6-9 months am2 board and no problems (cross's fingers). You are just talking about Sam's horrible luck with touching an ecs board lolz.

EDIT

PS lol he said sub 80... I personally dont buy sub 80 boards but the ecs was a freebie.

I found an X2 3800 with board and 1GB on Pricewatch for $103.82 shipped.

Here's the whole category, I think you would have a lot better chance of success if you could bump it up to $120.

Most of the cheap ones are ECS though. I've had good and bad with them.

OK, so I can't post links.

AMD is number two. It'd be better if they tried a little harder.

I have a $29 ECS board that has been running for about 3 years. I only game on it but I've never had problems.
Let us know what you end up getting

Not for lack trying that's for sure. Give Hector a little more time and they may be competing with VIA..

Well I think Via is still making processors, based on the Cyrix/Centaur heritage. I'm sure there are a few other x86 chips out there too.

But yeah as far as the mass market goes AMD is 2 out of 2.
