Depending for how long you've been using computers or how much of a geek you are, you may have heard about how old fashioned keyboards that used mechanical key switches were immensely better and built to last. We are talking about the really old keyboards here, like the ones that shipped with the original IBM PC in the early 80s.

I have one of those old IBM Model M keyboards and you'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

The Das Keyboard is appealing, but waaay too expensive. You can get a Model M clone from Customizer 101 White for $60 (and $70 for a black model).

They don't look as good as the Das Keyboard, but they will perform as well.

No doubt that dsio's interest a few months back leaped to mind when I saw this.":O}

Yes that pretty much means "the the keyboard".

Its like calling an ATM an "ATM machine" effectively "Automatic Teller Machine machine"

ATM machine. Trying to drop the redundant "machine" from the phrase. I'm getting there!
