Wonder if there's a shared cross patent with this memristor. If not, we'll see if the royalties are reasonable for other co's. It'd be good if I understood WTH this thing does!

I'm pretty sure there was an article about this a few months ago.

While it would seem these could be a great improvement, there are a few issues;
They currently only switch at ~1Hz about 3 thousand million times to slow (3GHz)

Article in May
DailyTech - HP Invents Fabled Memristor, New Class of Electrical Components
Uses even the same pics, it would be good if we got an update on the tech, not basically the same story. Can't find much on the HP site, and nothing new since ~June 2008.

I'm almost prepared to call vaporware on this one.

All it means is that they can replace several transistors with 1 of these memristors, In some cases.
So if 1 memristor ~ 5 transistors then they can take Moore's law further without a die shrink. It also could have power consumption, and price benefits in all chips.

If it works.

It'd be funny if more X-istors are required to switch these new things at a usable speed. One Hertz, hello Great Grandma.
