What the hell is eSATA and where can I get cable?

Just recived an external hard drive that uses eSATA, I have sata connectors (Never used SATA befre si this is all new to me) I thought all SATA uused the same connections...I can't get my SATA cables to fit on to the thing! They fit my Motherboadr nicely...? TIA!!

eSATA is 'External SATA'. A lot of higher end new motherboards have eSATA on the IO panel, if yours does not.

You need this:

Newegg.com - KINGWIN 15" eSATA PCI Bracket cable Model ESAC-02 - Cables

As shown in the image, plug it into a regular SATA point, and it gives you eSATA.
