Frozen Case & Bonsaw's hardware

Bonesaw sold me his old EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard and OCZ 2 1Gig sticks of RAM. I happen to have a 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 and an extra 80Gig hard-drive. So it was time to gut the Frozen Case and upgrade.

I allready have an HP DVD Burner in the case and about 6 case fans but I still needed a Power Supply. So I purchased the Ernmax Tomahawk 405watt and started installing. I spent several hours organizing all the cabling because I have at least 7 spot leds and those 6 case fans, so its a mess in there. I pulled the 3 thermal sensors because I was tired of them.

Last night I finally finished all the hardware installations and the first problem I had was no video. I'm using two GeForce 7600's in SLI, so I figured maybe the Bios is mixing up which is primary. I tried plugging into all four DVI ports and still no video. Then I figured maybe the BIOS settings were conflicting. So I did a CMOS reset and bam! VIDEO.
Bonsaw suggested to reset to the defaults in the BIOS because he was overclocking, so I did that also.

I noticed the BIOS was not recognizing my DVD drive and found that I forgot to set the jumper to Slave. Unfortunately my Optical and Hard-drive are both IDE and there is only 1 IDE port on the motherboard. so I had to run both on the same Serial cable.

After restarting, the BIOS still would not recognize the DVD. Since this Ernmax PS has so many SATA power attachments and only 4 molex connector I was having to use splitters and misc adapters to get all of my fans & lights powered. So I had the fan controller and DVD on the same string of Molex and the controller took all the juice. Right now the Controller is off and the DVD is functional, but I am going to find a SATA to molex adapter.

Otherwise its running great. This is machine #5
Thanks Bonesaw!

Not yet... I only installed XP Home this morning. Tonight I will be downloading the Nvidia drivers.
Do I need to search for SLI drivers or are they allready in the standard 7600 drivers?

SLI is working GREAT! My first test was Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.... It looks Great and Runs Great.
This is a killer budget machine! I only spent about $150.00 on it

I would but I don't even have a computer to put it in. My goal is to replace my Pentium 4's some day so all of my machines are up to date. I have two more to go...
I may ask you about it around Christmas
