One of the big benefits I see from this is that they won't get broken during shipping!
Memory don't do you much good when it arrives in pieces...

Actually, from what I understand, the biggest benefit is that building flexible memories was the biggest hurdle behind being able to build flexible devices of all kinds. Since virtually anything useful has to have at least SOME memory, that was a big stumbling block.
